Plainville Adult and Continuing Education and Nutmeg TV are collaborating to offer Nutmeg TV viewers the opportunity to learn about major U.S. historical and civic topics at home, on a regular basis.
Jill O’Brien, Coordinator of Plainville Adult & Continuing Education said, “Thanks to the generosity of the Elizabeth Norton Trust Board, we financed a broadcasting license to deliver quality, educational programming to all Nutmeg TV viewers, including English as a Second Language and Citizenship students, who will tune in as an extension of the curriculum.”
On Common Ground is a 15 episode series, featuring dramatized controversial civic issues along with factual United States’ historical events. The program begins on March 7, 2010 and will run until February, 2011. Nutmeg TV will broadcast one episode, three times per week: Sundays at 5:00 p.m., Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. and Fridays at
10:00 a.m., on educational (Comcast) channel 95 and AT&T U-verse Channel 99.

It’s the last week of July already! This summer is just flying by. I hope August brings some cooler weather but it’s usually the hotter month of the summer. Well, this is also the last week of this rotation – new programs start August 1st so look for some changes. This week look for “Gifts of Love” interview on My Kind of Town, “A Mothers’ Experience with Autism” on Monday at 5:30pm, A new “The Doctor’s In” - The Aging Eye on Wednesday at 7pm and What Is Autism? on Saturday at 8pm – all on Comcast Channel 5, or At&T U’Verse Channel 99. Our Educational Channel will continue airing all the local graduation ceremonies – check the schedule for school and times. Oh – don’t forget MONDAY MOVIE MADNESS! THIS MONTHS THEME IS ‘AAY, PIRATES! August has arrived! A new rotation of programs starts for the next 13 weeks. Look for some old favorites to return as well as new. It’s a relaxing time when many of our producers take time for themselves to relax. Sunday and Monday are always predictable and Tuesday sees the return of Watercolors w/Rosanne at 5pm,Music Matters at 5:30pm, The Cake Lady at 7pm followed by Sewing with Sandy, Chinese Art and Learn To Read at 10:30pm. Wednesday has In Focus returning at 7pm followed by Dancing With Style at 7:30pm. Connecticut Hip-Hop debutes at 8:30pm and look for Taiwan Culture at 9:30pm. Thursday has the Crack of Dawn added at 10pm followed by Early Nasa. Friday starts off with Animal Control Officer, Pirates taking the 7pm slot and EH Scoppine! returning at 9pm. Saturday starts with Tai Chi followed by Chinese Herbology, Rosin The Bow at 8pm, Cooks of the Valley at 8:30pm and June E.B’s Buzz at 9:30pm.
