Plainville Adult and Continuing Education and Nutmeg TV are collaborating to offer Nutmeg TV viewers the opportunity to learn about major U.S. historical and civic topics at home, on a regular basis.
Jill O’Brien, Coordinator of Plainville Adult & Continuing Education said, “Thanks to the generosity of the Elizabeth Norton Trust Board, we financed a broadcasting license to deliver quality, educational programming to all Nutmeg TV viewers, including English as a Second Language and Citizenship students, who will tune in as an extension of the curriculum.”
On Common Ground is a 15 episode series, featuring dramatized controversial civic issues along with factual United States’ historical events. The program begins on March 7, 2010 and will run until February, 2011. Nutmeg TV will broadcast one episode, three times per week: Sundays at 5:00 p.m., Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. and Fridays at
10:00 a.m., on educational (Comcast) channel 95 and AT&T U-verse Channel 99.

We’ve had 1 full month of new programming and we’re still adding! There are some great specials this week on both the Public and Educational Channels. Make sure you check the schedule! My Kind of Town repeats it’s show on Sickle Cell Care. And on Monday at 5:30pm we have a special on the Faces of Sickle Cell. Tuesday at 5pm you can catch Part 1 of American Heritage on Black History with the balance airing on Friday. Wednesday at 7pm a special titled “Minds On The Edge” can be seen and Friday at 9pm and 9:30pm will be parts 2 and 3 of the Americn Heritage Series. Saturday has all the favorites in place. Now on the Educational Channel on Monday, The Griswold School shares all it’s concerts starting at 6:30pm and on Friday at 7pm, the Jefferson School Winter Concert will air. Great local programming for all to enjoy! And don’t forget about MONDAY MOVIE MADNESS! This Months Theme is THE BEST O ALFRED HITCHCOCK!. This week’s special is THE LADY VANISHES!. March is here and so are the winds. Unfortunately the snow just doesn’t know enough to go away! Daylight Savings is just around the corner too. Not too many changes in this weeks programs and that’s good. It’s a great lineup of local programming this week on both the Public and Educational Channels. Make sure you check the schedule! Wednesday at 7pm a special request for the New Britain Industrial Museum will air. Saturday has all the favorites in place. Now on the Educational Channel starting Sunday at 5pm the series On Common Ground will start. This weeks episode: Citizenship. It will repeat on Wednesday at 9:30pm and Friday at 10am. On Monday, The Griswold School shares the Band Concert at 7pm and Family Gathering at 7:30pm. Wednesday at 1pm Fairfax Network will be LIVE with a new Meet The Author. Thursday at 1pm: THE 2010 WORLD’S LARGEST CONCERT will air in conjunction will all school’s music classes. Friday, the Griswold School Thanksgiving in the Round airs at 6:30pm and the Winter Choral Concert follows at 7pm. And don’t forget about MONDAY MOVIE MADNESS!
